Cigarette Trousers & Blazers

Right now a trend I'm loving is cigarette pants. They remind me of Audrey Hepburn and elegance. This season they have had a revamp. Prints, cool colours and they have got some serious cool factor. As soon as payday hits, I'm getting myself some and pairing them with a hot blazer.

country girl style...

Everytime summer comes along, my (faux) country girl side comes out. I am so sure that I was meant to be born in Nashville! I love it so much, and it seems so do celebs. So this is a celebration of country girls and wannabe country girls and their style.

Country girl style is all about denim shorts, solgan tees, baggy shirts, pretty dresses and of course cowboy boots! Which by the way are my favourite things to wear. I have been looking for my summer wardrobe and have found some perfect stuff!

something I'm dying to try...

One thing I'm defiantly buying after payday (wednesday hurry up!) is some feathers for my hair. I'm dying to try that trend out. Truth be told I'm dying for summer! (anyone else?) I think its gonna look awesome. Whether I plait them in, wear them in my hair down, or attach to a hairband, I'm mega excited! Hey, if the celebrities are at it, why can't I be?

Grammys! :)

After seeing The Grammys 2012 I decided to do a post about the best and worst outfits, in no particular order. Honestly I was disappointed by some people..


Best;

 Adele looked lovely. This black Armani dress is understated, elegant and gorgeously slimming. How slim does our girl look?!


2. Katy Perry'slight blue dress by Ellie Saab is gorgeous, I'm loving the detailling and the train! Understated accessories look beautiful too Katy! Only thing I'm not so sure on is the coordinating hair!


Worst;

1. Words fail me. Ruined a beautiful gown here Sasha Gradiva.


2. Snooki what is this?! The hair is awful, whats with the side swept red? And the dress...its not flattering and its pretty horrible to be frank. Not good.



3. Fergie looks ridiculous! Orange lace? Really? I hate everything about this. The high neck..whats the point, nothing else is covered!




4. Nedeea joke right?


Yeah so I wasn't best impressed with the outfit choices of this years Grammys. Why did so many stars go wrong?! Have your say and tell me whether you agree with my thoughts on the outfits, and if not which is your favourite :)

tribute to the late Whitney Houston

wednesday. 15th feb
After hearing on sunday that one of the greatest voices had passed I thought that we should all remember her. Now I wanted to remember her in my own way, and now I know this has nothing to do with fashion, it's important to me. So I want to remember her through my favourite Whitney Houston songs.  I think she should be remembered not as a lady with a sad and unfortunate liking for lethal addictions but as a woman whose voice was so powerful it could shatter glass (not proven). So help me remember her.

1. I Will Always Love You- Everyone and their daughter knows this incredible song. A song about loving the one that you had to leave. A song that I think a lot of people can relate to.

2. I Wanna Dance With Somebody- To me this song is one my sister and I used to sing to a lot. Its a fun song and it always makes me smile.

3. Saving All My Love For You- What I love about this song is mainly the music. Whitney has this incredible ability to make even a song about adultery sound sad and make me feel sorry for the adulteress.

4. Its Not Right But Its Okay- I Love this song! Its such a strong song for woman who have been shamed by their man. I love the lyrics; See I'm moving on, and I refuse to turn back.

5. I'm Every Woman- What I love about this song is the music. Its a song that I think, again, everyone knows and has heard or covered at some point in their life. Its so well known.

6.One Moment In Time- This song means a lot to me. The lyrics are amazing and powerful. And the way she holds that note at the end is just perfect.

if I was a rich girl...

No really, If I was a rich girl I would buy so much designer stuff its ridiculous. Right now I'm really into Skull print and I've been on Net-A-Porter a lot over the last couple of days, this is how I spend my days off, and I've found some serious stuff for the wishlist!  This Alexander McQueen scarf is a beaut! I love the colour and the print is amazing! But for £325, well I would if I could.

Another thing I've been lusting over are these adorable Alexander McQueen ballet flats. I just love the little skulls on the toes. Plus they would go with so much!


Also I've fallen in love with the designer Alice & Olivia this week. This purple dress is amazing. I love the back! Plus the length is perfect! If only I had £255 to spare! *sigh*
God I wish I had the money!

So I'm going out saturday evening with some friends from work and I was thinking about what to wear..now I have these really great shoes that my boyfriend got me for christmas and no-one from work has seen them.  So really I thought that the shoes should be the centre of my outfit. However that was about as far as I got. Then I thought, of all the people in the world, girls  are the only ones with this problem, girls that read fashion magazines, books, blogs..So I figured I would dig in my wardrobe and show you some of my options...and show you how much you can get from one pair of amazing shoes...

the S/S 12 trends that I'm excited for....

So outside its chilly and I'm snuggled up in my bed wearing leggings and a really cute panda jumper and googling stuff. Then I came across www.vogue.com and a page called trends. Naturally I checked it out, and some of the stuff I found has gotten me very excited for spring/summer 2012.

1. Exotic Skin Handbags.
Big, small, clutch. All the styles are now coming in prints such as snake and alligator, and colours such as lime green, dark classic red, elegant grey and more. Personally I am loving the Bottega Veneta lime green clutch.
 <<Definitely going on my wishlist!









2. Darling Buds- The new way to wear florals.
Now theres florals everywhere. Shift dresses, full length gowns, tradional pastel florals, monochrome florals and even; this is my favourite; florals on coats! I'm definitely coveting this monochrome floral coat by Kinder Aggugini! Its beautiful. I'd team it with fushia skyscraper heels and wear on a night out!




















3. Afrocentric.
This trend is straight out of Africa. Think zebra print in sundrenched yellow. Think fringe, beading and crochet knits. This trend is all about the 5 staples;  safari jackets, khaki skirts, crisp white shirts, shorts and leather belt bags. Its hard for me to pick just one favourite in this trend, but this jumpsuit by Holly Fulton is definitely up there!












4. Gatsby Glamour.
Flapper dresses with detailed bead work and flirty fringing. Silk gowns in watercolour pastels. Extremely detailed cloche hats to finish off the look. This trend is so dramatic, I love it. Compared to other favourites the colours in this trend are less out there but the beading and fringing are so exciting, who needs colour?! Ralph Lauren did this trend the best as far as I'm concerned.

the denim debate..

Okay so at the moment theres a lot of denim...well everywhere. Personally I'm a strong believer in not wearing trends that don't suit you..just because they are trends. I feel this way about denim. It dosen't look good on me, it never has. However, saying that, I have found some awesome jeans that do look good. So heres a run down of some hot denim amd where to find some look-a-likes on the british high street.

the first one

Well, hi :)
this is my first blog entry so to be quite honest I'm not sure what I want to say. A little about me, my name is Beth, but I will use the intial B mostly. I'm 19, 20 this year. I work in fashion and I love fashion. I also love makeup. This blog will be about both those things. I'm in  a relationship of 2 years and I'm disgustingly happy. But thats not what this is about.

I've been told that I'm a dreamer, but I think it makes life more exciting. Certaintly makes it prettier. I love girly, pretty things and fairytales. I used to spend everyday in a floaty skirt and tights but as I've grown up I've realised that as much as I would love to wear a prom dress everyday its not practical; sigh. This blog will be a mix of dreams and reality. Stuff I wear and stuff I wish I could. You see another reason I won't wear half the stuff that I will post is that I don't have the kind of fairytale, princess body. The kind that models have. But then who, in real life, does? Then again, I would give maybe not an arm but a least a finger to have the body that Taylor Swift has;
